Happening in Singapore for its 11th year, premier afterparty the Amber Lounge is and always has been a mainstay annual Singapore Grand Prix, Formula 1’s one and only night race.

Celebrating the 15th Anniversary in 2018 since its launch internationally, this year’s edition of the Amber Lounge in Singapore took place at Temasek Reflections at Millenia Tower, featuring a brand new look and swanky crystal theme.

The highlight of this year’s edition was none other than Grammy Award-winning R&B artist Mya, as she graced the stage dressed in a diamond patterned black and white dress along with thigh high, sparkly red boots.

Strutting out onstage, Mya brimmed with confidence as she took cheering audiences on a trip through time, performing her award-winning hit “Lady Marmalade” and “Ghetto Superstar” with gusto in a routine to remember.

Says Mya: “I had an absolute blast performing at the Amber Lounge Singapore Fashion Show and Grand Prix After Party. The atmosphere was incredible, it was so much fun. Definitely one of the best parties I’ve ever been to.”

At the stroke of midnight on Saturday, the Amber Lounge was taken over by a fashion storm as the appropriately A-shaped runway came awash in both local and international models strutting out in glitzy embellished pieces by local designer Nida Shay, wowing the audiences with these showstopping ensembles, silvery hair and makeup, giving them an ethereal, otherworldly feel.

Not to be outdone, this was followed up by Miss Universe Singapore contestants dressed by Bora Aksu, as well as suave drivers dressed in dapper suits by Q Menswear, oozing Cassanova-like charm with winsome smiles.

In the audience, celebrities from the likes of  Crazy Rich Asians stars Constance Lim and Fiona Xie were present, along with Daniel Macpherson, Warren Brown, Keith Duffy, David Coulthard, Martin Brundle and Jacques Villeneuve.

One was impressed by the execution of the Fashion Show, which not only left us amazed by the styles seen onstage, but also by its heart, with its supported of Make-A-Wish Singapore and raising funds for them.

With the race concluded on Sunday, F1 drivers ventured from the paddock to the much needed party and celebrated the conclusion of Singapore Grand Prix 2018, with racers such as Valtteri Bottas, Nico Hülkenberg, Esteban Ocon, Carlos Sainz, Pierre Gasly, Stoffel Vandoorne, Marcus Ericsson, Brendon Hartley and Sergey Sirotkin spotted amongst the revellers.

In addition, luxury brand CHANEL had also set up a display featuring timepieces from their Monsiuer Haute Horlogerie collection, with intricately crafted faces featuring hand-carved lion insignias, rotating camellia flowers studded with precious diamonds, visible gears and even a showstopping objet d’art – a massive table clock featuring a golden lion and diamonds.

Says Amber Lounge CEO and Founder Sonia Irvine: “Singapore just keeps getting better and better. Each year we fill our tables and Amber Lounge is brimming with the most vibrant atmosphere you can find at a party.  Mya and all the live acts were simply unbelievable and helped create yet another memorable Singapore Grand Prix after party.”

It was plain to see just how much effort has gone into crafting this bespoke, luxury experience at Singapore’s number one F1 afterparty, as we watched guests sip Lanson Champagne and premium liquors from the bar, intoxicated with joy and celebratory spirit as the bubbles kept flowing and the beats from international DJ acts kept the party raving till the sun came up.

There’s no party quite like an Amber Lounge party, and certainly, it’s one that will continue to cement itself as the place to see the hottest stars and be seen at, a surefire mark of class that will have you going full throttle with fun each and every time.

The Amber Lounge heads to Abu Dhabi on 24th and 25th November 2018. For more information, visit their website here
