The Singapore Monologue Slam (SMS) returns for the second time this September! Pioneering the competitive monologue scene here, the SMS is a platform for young actors and writers to showcase their skills and panache in front of a live audience and a jury panel from both the film and theatre industry.

The competition will be held at *SCAPE from 21 to 24 September and welcomes all to participate and step forward into the spotlight, and initiatives will be aimed at including participants from all walks of life. An online competition, for example, enables adults beyond the age of 35 to participate, the winner of whom will be granted entry into the final Grand Slam.

From personalized consultations to masterclasses, participants will receive mentorship and guidance every step of the way. And this year, there’s even more incentive to take part, with more than $22,000 in prizes up for grabs, recognizing not only the overall winner, but those with potential and catch the attention of the jury.

And the best thing of all? The finalists of this year’s competition will be taking their monologues on tour in different venues around Singapore to present their creativity and spread the love for monologues to the masses. Interested participants should sign up before the entry deadline of 30 June.
