June is here, and that means the school holidays along with it! As part of the celebrations, Resorts World Sentosa has an exciting lineup of special events at each and every one of their venues specially for the whole family to come down and enjoy!
Over at the Maritime Experiential Musuem and S.E.A. Aquarium, learn what it means to be a great explorer with the National Geographic full day Ocean Exploration Children’s Workshop. Held on selected days from now till 3rd June, families can take part in multiple interactive activities in Singapore’s first and only marine science and marine exploration children’s workshop, which will also include an exclusive back-of-house tour at the aquarium’s Open Ocean Habitat. On 26th and 27th May, further that thirst for adventure and get a chance to meet submarine pilot and ocean explorer Erika Bergman at the Maritime Experiential Museum as she shares stories about her expeditions, the future of exploration and her contribution towards marine conservation. Sign up here to reserve a slot.
At the S.E.A. Aquarium, celebrate World Oceans Day with the Ocean Fest from 25th May to 24th June. Over the month, the aquarium will raise awareness for ocean conservation through a marketplace showcasing ocean-friendly products, immersive art installations, underwater performances, upcycling workshops and educational challenges. Experience guilt free shopping as you purchase items from over 10 ecofriendly booths each weekend, furnishing your home with items such as upcycled LED lamps, to health and wellness in the form of organic beauty products.
In an art installation titled “Life in Plastic”, guests can also experience what it might be like to be a small animal entangled in marine debris, and they weave their way through a maze of plastic bottles, fishing nets and other marine litter, and become more aware of how plastic pollution could completely destroy an otherwise healthy ocean habitat. For younger visitors, get set to put on those detective caps as they head on down to the Ocean Lab and investigate the string of gruesome crimes that’ve led to the harm of marine life – suspects include plastic trash found in the stomachs of animals to tiny microbeads. Serve out justice and bring to light the culprits behind the deaths of innocent sharks and albatrosses, by simply rejecting the use of plastic straws!
In addition, take a break and relax your mind as you gather around and enjoy the all new underwater show titled “Harmony’s Message”, as guests learn how to keep the oceans and marine life healthy, while the Guardians of the S.E.A.A. will lead interested volunteers in upcycling workshops, and even get a chance to meet turtle specialist Mark Hamann to learn how technology can advance conservation efforts.
Over at Adventure Cove Waterpark, get ready for the Splash Bash, happening from 26th May to 1st July across weekends and public holidays. Here, participants can look forward to water-themed challenges, guaranteed for a thrilling time. Activities include the bizarre but very fun Flamingo Race, where participants sit atop a giant pink flamingo float and paddle towards the finish line at Bluwater Bay. For more high speed action, head on down to Flag Down and Hurdle Up for a whale of an obstacle course, and speedsters will be rewarded with attractive prizes, such as smartphones, smartwatches and action cameras if completed in the shortest possible time.
Finally, at Universal Studios Singapore, visit Jurassic World: Explore & Roar from 2nd June to 22nd August. Celebrating the release of the newest Jurassic World film , this event will feature an all-new live action show and an interactive raptor training programme, where you too can be like Chris Pratt and become a master of these incredibly curious beasts.
