The Textile and Fashion Federation (TaFF) has announced the incubatees for the first cohort in The Bridge Fashion Incubator (TBFI), launching on 19th August 2019 at The Cocoon Space, Design Orchard. The 11 incubatees are Adrian Furstenburg, Clothesbar, Collaro Classic Menswear, FA8 & Company, GINLEE Studios, King of Redonda Children’s Swimwear & Lifestyle, Miokoo, Mycotech, The Ranee of Sarawak, Spring Maternity, and Tallis.

Aiming to give the incubatees exposure to learning good fashion business practices and skills, along with custom mentoring from leading industry expert, the cohort of 11 companies was carefully selected from more than 40 applications, by a panel of experienced industry leaders, including Darren Teo (Managing Partner, Apricot Capital), Alan Hellawell (Venture Partner, Alpha JWC Ventures), Debra Langley (Venture Partner, Start Today Ventures) and David Ward (Founder, The Nurturing Co.).

Spearheaded by programme leads, Jo Soh and Jon Max Goh, and resident mentor, Debra Langley, TBFI will be conducted jointly with specialist mentors from fashion and lifestyle, sustainability and social impact, technology, and investment. Key themes emerging from the inaugural cohort are materials and tech innovation, sustainability, re-imagining the retail experience online and offline, and use of technology to customise products, reduce manufacturing and supply chain timeframes, and improve margin performance.
