Discover by Circles.Life, Circles.Life’s go-to app offering a personalised event browsing and booking experience, has announced the official launch of Discover Fun, a new category on the Discover platform that focuses on aggregating and showcasing the most interesting workshops and classes to support local workshop businesses.
The main aim of Discover Fun is to provide Singaporeans with interesting options for learning a new skill and still have a fun and immersive experience at the same time. Discover Fun divides its workshops across five categories – Arts & Crafts, Culinary, Fitness, Beauty and Hobbies. About 100 workshops from 28 partner companies are currently available, with more still to come. Notable workshops include perfume mixology workshops by Oo La Lab and kombucha brewing classes by Kombynation.
With the recent lack of overseas holiday options for Singaporeans and the reduction of foreign tourist activity on the island, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has launched a $45M campaign dubbed “Singapoliday” to encourage Singaporeans to take a local holiday, in order to support businesses on the island. STB will be providing subsidies to local businesses, for them to offer attractive deals and promotions for locals.
In support of this effort, Discover has decided to launch the Discover Fun category to support local workshop businesses, who might not directly benefit from the STB subsidies, but have still been adversely affected the recent Circuit Breaker measures. Discover recognises the current period of reopening economy and lack of international travel as the best time for local workshop businesses to attract locals to take part in their classes. By increasing awareness of some of these interesting local workshops and aggregating these classes together on one platform, it is now easier for Singaporeans to find out about and take part in workshops that might be of interest to them.
“As part of our ongoing efforts to support local businesses and individuals during this pandemic, such as our recent launch of Discover Food as well as ticketed online music and comedy events, it makes sense that we’re launching Discover Fun to share and introduce fun local workshops to Singaporeans while helping these local businesses. We are expecting to have at least 500 workshops and local activities listed on the Discover platform within the next 3 months, to bring a greater variety of experiences to Singaporeans and to help out more local businesses,” said Benjamin Choo, Head of Discover.
In conjunction with National Day 2020, and as part of the Discover Fun launch, Discover will also be offering an e-Funpack which would consist of a curated selection of 55 promotions, including exclusive deals for workshops, F&B and more. These include 3 months free access to HiFi TIDAL music streaming, 15% off wine appreciation classes by Fine Wines and even a 55% discount on Laugh with Discover, an original online comedy show by Discover, featuring Jinx Yeo, Rishi Budhrani and Jacky Ng.
