After a year of the pandemic, we all could use a good prick (of laughter) to perk us all up. This March, come get your dose of humour as Singapore’s queen of comedy Kumar arrives at the Drama Centre to tickle your funny bone and help you relieve the stress of daily life.
A Dose of Comedy is set to reinvigorate your soul with a healthy shot of jokes galore and bring live comedy back into your life.
Following on from his gig at the Esplanade, A Dose of Comedy is set to reinvigorate your soul with a healthy shot of jokes galore and bring live comedy back into your life. Laughter is the best medicine after all, so let Kumar prescribe you his cure-all as he’s ‘dragged’ onstage, with claws, glitter and wit ready to go. Kumar will also be joined by his sexy, sultry showgirls, who’ll be lip-syncing and dancing with him, reminding us all of the now-defunct Boom Boom Room of the 1990s, where Kumar made his breakthrough and hosted many memorable comedy nights.
Opening for Kumar is stand-up comedians Sam See. Featured on Comedy Central Asia’s Stand-Up Asia, Sam is armed with comic timing and a glib tongue, and ready to shake the foundations before Kumar tears the house down.

Said Dr James Yeow, chairman of presenters OMT Group: “OMT Group – OMT Entertainment’s main objective is to support local artist and to work with like-minded companies in creating unforgettable memories for all our clients. We trust that DMR Productions and GenerationX are partners we can rely on to see this through.”
“The entertainers needed to be on stage, the venues needed to be filled, the tech crew needed a show to run.”
Adds the organisers: “DMR and GenerationX were badly hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. Not only were our businesses whipped badly, our friends who were in the entertainment business were hit too. We needed to host an event, the entertainers needed to be on stage, the venues needed to be filled, the tech crew needed a show to run. So we jointly decided to do what we knew best, to produce this show. Most importantly we felt we all needed to have a good laugh.”
So put aside those Zoom calls for one night, and get off your Netflix binge for a night out at the theatre, as Kumar and his showgirls knock your socks off and get your slides splitting with A Dose of Comedy.
A Dose of Comedy plays from 19th to 21st March 2021 at the Drama Centre Theatre. Tickets available from Peatix
