This March, prepare your ears for a double bill of some of classical music’s most beloved compositions, as re:sound Collective proudly presents Franz Schubert’s charming Trout Quintet, and the evergreen Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi in one exciting concert.
Playing next week at the Victoria Concert Hall, Schubert’s Piano Quintet in A major, D. 667 is better known as the Trout Quintet. Written for piano, violin, viola, cello and double bass, the piece is known as the Trout because the fourth movement is a set of variations on Schubert’s earlier Lied “Die Forelle” (“The Trout”), and will be performed by
a prodigious line-up of the Concordia Quartet, with bassist Julian Li and Berlin-based pianist Shaun Choo.
Meanwhile, Vivaldi’s evergreen The Four Seasons needs no introduction, each violin concerti giving expression to one of the four seasons through the year, taking us through a cycle of Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, encompassing the power and beauty of nature through sound. Putting the spotlight on young prodigies, The Four Seasons will feature soloists Yuto Lim (12), Sophia Fang (11), Jacob Cheng (15), and Mark Chia (11), led by Yang Shuxiang.
Prepare for an evening of resounding music and a relaxing time at the concert hall, as re:Sound Collective presents Prodigious – The Trout & Four Seasons next week.
