Following on the success of the ONE Championship held in previous years, boxing in Singapore is about to break new waves and usher in a new height of prestige this February. Organized by the amazing ‘RingStar Management’, The Roar of Singapore is set to be the biggest Universal Boxing Organisation (UBO) event in history, with a whopping four UBO titles up for grabs. Headlining the event is Ryan ‘The Real Deal’ Ford, Canada’s undefeated light heavyweight, who will be up against New Zealand’s Sam ‘The Terror’ Rapira for the UBO Light Heavyweight World Title.
Other titles the contestants will be vying for include the UBO Light Heavyweight Intercontinental Title, UBO Super Middleweight Asia Pacific Title and the UBO Cruiserweight Asian Pacific Title, and a total of 14 electrifying boxing matches with both international and regional boxers hailing from the likes of Canada, New Zealand, Australia, UK, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.
Apart from witnessing some of the best in global boxing talent, our own local boxing champs will have a chance to shine and get in on the action as well.Singapore’s first female professional boxing champion, Nurshahidah ‘The Sniper’ Roslie, will be battling it out in her first championship match after taking on New Zealand’s Gentiane ‘AAA’ Lupi at the Singapore Fighting Championship 4 held lastNovember, and fan-favourite Muhamad ‘The Chosen Wan’ Ridhwan will be competing for the Ringstar-SFC International championship belt. Rafi ‘The Ruffian’ Majid will be stepping into the ring as well, looking to claim the UBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight championship title. If he wins, he will be crowned Singapore’s first male professional boxing champion.
