Preview: Tropicana The Musical (Part 2)

Some time ago we brought you a preview of the epic new production: Tropicana The Musical, featuring an all star cast and creative team. But now here’s even more reasons to come down to the show! After what seemed to be a long time, Tropicana is finally opening tomorrow! Here are some of the events you can look forward to!
1. There will be a pop-up bar by Equilibrium Bistro at the Capitol Theatre selling select alcohol and snacks which all ticket holders *can* bring into the theatre and enjoy while watching the show! No worries about getting fined for this one!
2. Masterchef Asia winner Woo Wai Leong developed a special Tropi-cookie just for ticket holders to the Saturday, April 15 8pm show, where guests will be able to purchase the cookie via donation, the proceeds of which will go to Tropicana The Musical. The Tropi-cookie is a Goji Berry, Chocolate Chip and Browned Butter Cookie, and only 150 pieces which will be available during the interval, and acts as a preview to his next pop-up, as part of a collaboration between TCM stall Eu Yan Sang and himself, exploring the traditional heritage values of TCM and infusing that into food and drink.

3. Ticket holders will be entitled to some ticket stub discounts throughout the entire Capitol Piazza! With discounts in stores from Benjamin Barker to even restaurants like Angelina, the whole mall has joined in to celebrate the musical’s run.

4. Over 15 and 16 April, there will be a special weekend vintage Tropicana Bazaar at the basement of Capitol Piazza. Come down for all your hipster/vintage needs, or just to join in the fun. Tropicana actor Mitch Lagos will even be performing live on Sunday 16 April from 12-1230pm as he channels and croons the music of Frank Sinatra, who he plays in the musical!
5. Equilibrium Bistro itself has prepared a special pre-theatre dinner menu, so come early for their 60s inspired food and drink! Your ticket stub will get you discounts too. Dishes include Creole Beef Pasta, Pasta Shrimp Kalakua and Chicken Ala King.
6. Check out some of the Tropicana The Musical official merchandise, designed by Singapore Creative Circle award-winning designer Tan Zixi, who created caricatures of each of the 11 cast members.

What more reason do you need to grab your tickets and come on down to catch Tropicana The Musical? Avoid FOMO and don’t miss a single thing this April at the Capitol Piazza. (Also ticket holders can look forward to a host of discounts from various partners at the capitol!)

Tropicana The Musical plays at the Capitol Theatre from 13-30 April. Tickets available now from SISTIC!  For more information, check out their website at
