Bertolt Brecht’s masterpiece following the life Italian philosopher and astronomer Galileo Galilei gets a revival at the Young Vic this summer by BAFTA Award-winning director Joe Wright (Atonement, Anna Karenina).
Featuring Brendan Cowell in the title role after an acclaimed performance in Yerma, Life of Galileo is a play for the times, charting the invention of the telescope and his subsequent trial by the Roman Catholic church. An explosive piece of historical drama complete with projection in the Young Vic’s immersive theatre-in-the-round, Life of Galileo promises to bring a little starlight into your life and make you believe in the power of science and faith once again.
