This June, get your tickets and get set to witness two of Europe’s biggest rugby teams as they go head to head in the first international Test Match held at the new National Stadium. With both Italy and Scotland en route to Fiji and Australia to play a series of matches, our sunny island happens to be their stopover point, and their match will mark the very first time the two nations will face each other here in Singapore.

The last time Singapore saw an international test match was a whopping 19 years ago, back when we hosted the 1998 Asian Rugby Championships. Led by legendary Italian captain Sergio Parisse and Greg Laidlaw captaining Scotland, the two teams will clash once again after their previous encounter at the Rugby Six Nations in March, where Scotland won 29-0. This match could honestly go either way, with plenty of tense moments in store for fans of both sides.

The National Stadium has already hosted the rugby World Club 10s as well as the very successful, recently concluded HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens, Playing to an enthusiastic, energetic crowd in the thousands. The Italy vs Scotland test match looks to be just as exciting, if not more so especially with the rivalry between both countries.
