Preview: Spooky Seas and Ocean Dreams 2018 @ RWS’ S.E.A. Aquarium

This September, Resorts World Sentosa Singapore’s S.E.A. Aquarium invites visitors to take a closer look at the weird, wild and unexpected!

As part of their annual Spooky Seas programme held in conjunction with Halloween, come introduce yourself to a variety of quirky, rarely seen sea creatures – from the big-headed bumphead parrotfish and the chimaeric elephant fish, to the fanged vampire fish and long-nosed paddlefish, all four of which are now newly being housed in the S.E.A. Aquarium.

From 1st September to 28th October, kids can also take part in a scavenger hunt to learn about various species that dwell in the aquarium, mimicking the animals’ unique behaviours at various interactive stations as part of Spooky Seas.

In addition, in conjunction with the September school holidays, the Aquarium’s Ocean Dreams programme will be making a return next week. The 2 day 1 night programme will allow little ones to have an unforgettable sleepover at the Aquarium, where they will learn about how fish behave differently at night. This programme affords guests the rare opportunity to explore the aquarium after hours and see the animals in a whole new light, relaxing in the comfort and serenity of the night.

Guests will get a chance to learn all about manta rays in a special manta interaction and enrichment presentation titled “Manta Moments”, where aquarists will showcase their bonds with these gentle giants, hand-feeding them and showing off their intelligence and curiosity. During a guided tour, guests will also learn about the unusual sleeping behaviours of some creatures, as well as discover bioluminiscent animals, such as colourful corals disguised as innocent plants. Guests will also be comfortably housed in tents at the Open Ocean Habitat, allowing them to soak up the mesmerising atmosphere of the aquarium while snoozing in private.
