Think Orchard Road doesn’t have anything new up its sleeves? Think again, as the Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA) launches an all-new roving pop-up concept this May. Named NAO (Night At Orchard), the project aims to liven up the pedestrian experience along Orchard Road, taking place at different stretches of Singapore’s most famous shopping belt every first weekend of the month, showcasing talents from across fashion, arts, food & beverage and music with a different theme every month.

Open till late with each iteration, NAO aims to bring on a new and refreshing night-time visitor experience to Orchard Road while reinforcing the precinct’s standing as a lifestyle destination for both locals and tourists. Says Mr Mark Shaw, Chairman of ORBA: “Given this opportunity to work with both the public and private sectors, we are excited to introduce NAO. This event provides a fresh dimension of retail experience and gives visitors a different option to shop, dine and play on our Great Street at night. It is also a brand new platform for promising talents to showcase their craftsmanship and skills alongside established brands.”

NAO is split across three distinct categories, namely the performing arts (#LiveNAO), food (#EatNAO) and Retail (#ShopNAO). If you’re familiar with the busking scene, watch our own local buskers take to the streets of Orchard Road at NAO, while chowing down on snacks from a line-up of food from mobile food trucks such as The Travelling C.O.W., Coffee Bandits, SawadeeCup, Old Chang Kee and even the Mandarin Orchard! Finally, enjoy fine craftsmanship from the likes of 13rushes, Forest Orchid Oolong Tea by Zeroplusone, exclusive bag designs by The Everyday Club and WEAREMADD to feed the shopaholic in you.

Says Ms Ranita Sundra, Director, Retail and Dining, Singapore Tourism Board: “Strengthening Orchard Road’s position as an attractive lifestyle destination is a priority for us. To that end, rejuvenation plans for the precinct include creating and providing spaces to testbed new and creative ideas and products. The one-year trial led by the Orchard Road Business Association will be a platform for us to experiment with innovative and experiential concepts to cement Orchard Road as a must-visit precinct. NAO, a new outdoor event under the trial, will bring greater buzz and excitement to the precinct on weekends.”

The first edition of NAO takes place along the stretch between ION Orchard and Ngee Ann City from 3rd to 5th May 2019 from 5pm to 10pm. For the latest updates on NAO, visit www.orchardroad.org or Instagram account @orchardroad.sg for more information. Visit their Facebook event page here
