Preview: AIA Glow Festival 2019

Get ready to dedicate a whole day to rest, relaxation and yourself with the AIA Glow Festival on 25th May 2019. Taking place across 15,000sqm of space on Sentosa Island, the inaugural edition of the festival presents a brand-new spectrum of unique experiences and activities allowing all to find reconnection within themselves, as it gathers established local brands in food, music and wellness alongside internationally acclaimed music acts such as Rudimental, Lost Frequencies and Nina Nesbitt, as well as celebrity yoga instructors Laura Kasperzak and Marysia Do.

Taking place from the crack of morning at 7.30am and running all the way till 11pm in the evening, get ready for a variety of events you’ll be flitting from throughout the entire day, such as the celebrity yoga classes and music performances, both taking place under a unique 1,600 sqm structure by South African based artist Carin Dickson, which provides shade for mass yoga sessions in the day and will transform into the main stage in the evening for the music acts.

With over 30 different yoga classes in 22 different yoga styles specially curated by Pure Yoga Singapore, both yoga enthusiasts and newbies are sure to find something suitable for their skill level. These classes are especially attractive, owing to the presence of world-renowned yoga instructors Marysia “Queen of Handstand” Do and yoga influencer Laura Kasperzak, know for her ability to break postures down makes her classes accessible to yogis of all levels.

Stay energized throughout the day with a smorgasbord of vendors hawking healthy festival grub at The Marketplace, and fuel up with brands such as El Tardeo, Three Buns by Potato Head Family, The Acai Collective and Scrambled Café, many of which will feature a special dish exclusively available at the AIA Glow Festival. Three Buns, for example, will be selling their vegan Impossible Glow – an “impossible” meat patty and cashew cheese married with three islands mayo, refreshing watermelon rind relish, lettuce and pickles, while The Acai Collective’s Glow-kini Acai Bowl offers up a generous acai bowl with banana, chocolate bucking, almond nut slices and cookie butter. Festival goers can also join Jeremy Pang – AIA’s Healthy Chef, Founder of School of Wok in London, as he brings you through masterclasses on Healthy Dim Sum throughout the day.

Take part in a 5km charity run along Siloso and Palawan Beach, where a number of fun surprises and activities lie in wait along the route, with S$10 donated to to the AIA Centennial Fund with each person who completes the run, benefitting over 100 families from Children’s Wishing Well. Upon signing up, participants will receive a festival bandana and a“Ran With My Heart” medal after completing the route.

Finally, end the day with a night of fun, fresh upbeat tunes, with local band The Sam Willows, Scottish pop/R&B artist Nina Nesbitt in her Singapore debut, chart-topping Rudimental with their infectious drum and bass music, and finally, award winning DJ and producer Lost Frequencies to end the night with a 75-minute set filled with tropical house and deep house tunes.
