HONG KONG – It’s the perfect season to experience white truffles, and Cucina celebrates the arrival of highly coveted white truffles from Piedmont, Italy. Together with Chef Andrea Delzanno, Cucina will showcase six exquisite white truffle dishes from 22nd October to 10th January 2020.
The unique aroma and taste of white truffles – dubbed the ‘White Diamond of the Dining Table’ – are cherished by gastronomes around the world. Chef Andrea has whipped up a Taiyouran Scrambled Egg on Toasted Bread with Seared Hokkaido Scallops and White Truffle (HK$428), a home-style favourite from the Piedmont region, enhanced by the addition of plump, juicy Hokkaido scallops and Taiyouran egg.
The smooth and savoury indulgence of Handmade Tagliolini with Butter, Parmigiano Cheese and White Truffle (HK$498) is Chef Andrea’s personal favourite, with its fresh handmade pasta taking diners on a sensorial ride through its simple, sublime flavours.
White Truffle Ice Cream with Hazelnut Sponge and Truffle Mascarpone ($288) complete the meal on a memorable sweet note. “This is a very special dessert where the ice cream is full of white truffle aroma – simple but elegant,” says Chef Andrea.
Other superb white truffle dishes on Cucina’s special menu include Potato Flan with Soft-boiled Egg with Cheese Fondue and Shaved White Truffle (HK$388), Risotto with Mascarpone Cheese, Seared Scampi Tail and Shaved White Truffle (HK$498) and Roasted Italian Veal Chop with Brussel Sprouts, Chestnut Puree and White Truffle (HK$588).
