Homegrown communications company StarHub and Bundesliga International, a subsidiary of DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga, have agreed to a new multi-year deal to air Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 matches in Singapore. Football fans can now look forward to the full Bundesliga experience, with the German Supercup and crucial end-of-season promotion/relegation play-off matches, also being broadcast in addition to the league matches, only on StarHub.
StarHub is now the home of German football, bringing fans new ways to catch their favourite German teams in action. Through StarHub TV+, an all in one entertainment platform, football fans will be able to watch more than 200 matches live in HD through multiple avenues such as their TV or the StarHub TV+ app. They can catch the Bundesliga and other sports, with a Sports+ Pass at just $20 per month; and those who also subscribe to StarHub Mobile post-paid will be able to stream all matches free of data charges.
StarHub will also bring football fans greater Bundesliga related content both on and off the pitch, collaborating closely with Bundesliga International to engage local football fans through onsite activations and promotions at StarHub official stores and events. Fans can look forward to even greater interactions with their favourite Bundesliga teams and players through subscriber-only events such as meet and greet sessions or social contests to win player jerseys as the season progresses.
StarHub is also launching a Bundesliga microsite, which will host match highlights, matchday clips and Bundesliga Report – an editorially produced show that will feature Bundesliga stars, stories and exclusive behind-the-scenes content. Fans will also be treated to two additional Bundesliga programmes, Bundesliga Weekly and Best of the Month. Bundesliga Weekly will give fans the latest updates on team news and highlight key players for each match up every Thursday, while Best of the Month looks back at the best goals, matches and players of each month.
Johan Buse, Chief of Consumer Business Group, StarHub, said:“We are delighted to bring Bundesliga, one of the most popular football leagues in the world, to Singapore for the coming seasons, and look forward to providing our customers with a new and refreshing Bundesliga experience. For a start, German football fans can now catch their favourite German clubs and stars on their preferred platform, live and on-the-go with our new StarHub TV+. In the coming months, fans can look forward to even more unique Bundesliga content as we make StarHub the home of sports.
Robert Klein, Bundesliga International CEO, said: “This agreement is not only about bringing the best coverage of our world class players and clubs, but also getting closer to the fans by working with StarHub and its extensive reach in Singapore. By working closely with StarHub and our partners, we can continue to grow the reach of the Bundesliga in Singapore and throughout Asia.”
Featuring European Champions FC Bayern München and Champions League semi-finalists RB Leipzig, Bundesliga is one of the most attractive leagues in the world, thanks to its high-octane, high energy style of football, unique club traditions and passionate fans. Home to both established elite players, such as Robert Lewandowski and Marco Reus alongside exciting young talents such as Erling Haaland and Marcus Thuram, the quality on the pitch is world class. With Lucien Favre’s Borussia Dortmund and Marco Rose’s Borussia Mönchengladbach looking to stop Hansi Flick’s FC Bayern München from claiming a ninth straight title, fans in Singapore can look forward to another exciting Bundesliga season.
