Film Fanatic: Golden Village brings the heat with Asian blockbusters and more this December

This December, celebrate all things Asian with a slew of blockbusters coming to Golden Village cinemas. Asian superstars Andy Lau, Sean Lau, Gong Yoo, Park Bo Gum, Li Xian and Chen Li-Nung are coming to the big screen once again, as they star in mythical adventure Soul Snatcher 《赤狐书生》, crime action-thriller Shock Wave 2 《拆弹专家 2》 and sci-fi action flick Seobok 《永生战》.

From the producer of Monster Hunt《捉妖记》comes Soul Snatcher 《赤狐书生》. Opening on 10th December, the film stars up and coming Chinese actors Li Xian and Chen Li-Nung, and follows a fox spirit (Li Xian) going on a quest for immortality in human world. Befriending an innocent scholar (Chen Li-Nung), the two team up to fight mythic creatures and evil spirits on their journey.

Meanwhile, receiving a simultaneous China-Hong Kong-Taiwan-Singapore release on 24th December, Shock Wave 2 《拆弹专家 2》 sees Hong Kong acting legends Andy Lau and Sean Lau together onscreen for the first time in 18 years. Helmed by Herman Yau, this sequel introduces a new character – bomb disposal officer Poon Sing-fung (Andy Lau) who falls into a coma after suffering injuries at a crime scene and becoming a wanted criminal. Interrogated and imprisoned for his alleged ties with a criminal organization, he enlists the help of his comrade in arms, bomb disposal officer Tung Cheuk-man (Sean Lau).

Finally, Korean heartthrobs Gong Yoo and Park Bo Gum star in Seobok《永生 战》. Opening on 31st December, the sci-fi action blockbuster follows a former intelligence agent (Gong Yoo) who comes across mankind’s first human clone Seo Bok (Park Bo Gum), and get caught up in dangerous incidents involving several forces who are on the hunt to possess the clone.

In addition to the three blockbusters, movie buffs can also look out for heartfelt Asian dramas releasing this December. Get excited for Dear Tenant《亲爱的房客》 opening on 3rd December. The film clinched three Golden Horse Awards this year  for Best Leading Actor (Mo Tzu-Yi ), Best Supporting Actress (Chen Shu-Fang), and Original Film Score, and follows a man taking care of his dead partner’s mother and child. In Josee《她的名字,乔瑟》, Nam Joo Hyuk and Han Ji Min star in this Korean adaptation of the 2003 Japanese movie Josee, The Tiger and The Fish. Opening on 10th December, the film follows a woman with a physical disability, whose life changes when a man enters it. Finally, on 31st December, look out for I Remember 《明天你是否依然爱我》, a remake of Thai romance movie One Day, featuring Lee Hong Chi and Angelababy.

Dear Tenant opens on 3rd December, Soul Snatcher and Josee on 10th December, Shock Wave 2 on 24th December, and Seobok and I Remember on 31st December, all at Golden Village
