Who said classical music was a snoozefest? Red Dot Baroque members Leslie Tan, Brenda Koh and Placida Ho, and director Bright Ong are here to change that, with their brand new production What The Bach!?
Playing at the end of December and into the New Year at the Esplanade Annexe Studio, What The Bach!? brings together classical music performance and theatre to craft an experimental and intimate new genre of show. The three musicians will be performing Bach’s Goldberg Variations (arranged for string trio), alongside movement work by Zhuo Zihao, Norisham Osman, Li Ruimin, and even a remix by David Loke (Lorong Boys). Prepare for live-drawn digital art by Joshua Goh and lighting choreography by Alberta Wileo, as What The Bach!? explores a kaleidoscope of spatial sound, sensory deprivation, and even a rave party.
Be sure to come dressed in your most comfortable clothing, as you unwind with the gang and appreciate the brilliance of Bach in a totally new light. Leave your expectations at the door and get ready to rethink the way we experience classical music, as What The Bach!? comes to the Esplanade to round off 2021 and welcome 2022.
What The Bach!? plays from 30th December 2021 to 2nd January 2022 at the Esplanade Annexe Studio. Tickets and more information available here
