Sir David Attenborough celebrates his 96th birthday on 8 May and BBC Earth marks the natural history veteran’s extraordinary journeys in nature and across the globe with two of his latest Natural History titles! Explore the lost world of the very last days of the dinosaurs in Dinosaurs: The Final Day with David Attenborough, brought to life in unprecedented detail. This landmark documentary combines palaeontologist Robert DePalma’s discovery of the fossilised creatures and state of the art VFX production techniques to transport viewers back in time to the Late Cretaceous. In Attenborough’s Wonder of Song, tune in with Sir David to remarkable sounds of the natural world in an open-air festival of songs of sex and survival.

Dinosaurs: The Final Day with David Attenborough

This landmark documentary brings to life, in unprecedented detail, the lost world of the very last days of the dinosaurs. Searching in the hills of North Dakota, palaeontologist Robert DePalma discovered fossilised creatures, buried in a mysterious crumbly layer of rock. They were astonishingly well preserved, like the bodies found at Pompeii. While DePalma searches the site for evidence that can shed light on the final days of the dinosaurs, state of the art VFX production techniques transport viewers back in time to witness the creatures who lived at Tanis at the end of the Late Cretaceous.

Coast New Zealand Series 3

Premieres Wednesday, 25th May at 9:00pm, on StarHub channel 407, Singtel channel 203 and BBC Player

The return of the stunningly shot series that takes you on an epic voyage of discovery of people and places through New Zealand. The enthusiastic team of presenter Neil Oliver and six New Zealand experts in marine biology, history and social history explore the panoramic beauty of the coastline while investigating the formation and evolution of the nation: its history, its people, and its culture. The third series kicks off in Wellington, the world’s southern-most capital city. Neil Oliver visits living Moriori artefacts and Michael Stevens hears about the day the Germans infiltrated the islands’ waters during World War Two. The team explore the natural wonders of the Bay of Plenty, and reveal seaside stories from locations including the white-stone city of Oamaru and the Northland region of Kaipura. In a Coast New Zealand first, adventurer Dave Murray lands his plane on remote Big Bay in South Westland.
