Giraffe Pictures will release the AJOOMMA original motion picture soundtrack 《花路阿朱妈》电影原声带 on 23 December 2022. This marks Giraffe Pictures’ first OST album release for one of their films.
The album features 20 original compositions scored by Ting Si Hao 陈思豪，a Singaporean composer who has previously composed music for feature documentary André and His Olive Tree 《初心》 and the HBO series Invisible Stories.
The AJOOMMA OST album is available on most streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Tidal, YouTube Music, KKBOX, Tencent, Deezer, Amazon, Anghami, and even on social media sites like Instagram, Facebook and TikTok where people can use the music on their videos.
The album release on 23 December also coincides with the film’s theatrical release date in Taiwan. AJOOMMA is also scheduled to be released in Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines in the first quarter of 2023 with other territories soon to follow.
Produced by award-winning filmmaker Anthony Chen 陈哲艺, AJOOMMA is the directorial debut of He Shuming, marking Hong Hui Fang’s first leading role in a feature film where she co-stars with talented Korean actors including Jung Dong-hwan, Kang Hyung-suk 姜亨锡 with special appearances by Yeo Jin-goo 吕珍九. Local actor Shane Pow包勋评 also plays a supporting role in the film.
The movie is selected as Singapore’s Oscars entry in the Best International Feature Film category and has received four awards this year. It was awarded the Best Film Award at the 2nd BaliMakarya Film Festival (under the Southeast Asian Feature Competition), the Best Actress Award (Hong Huifang 洪慧芳) at the 8th Asian World Film Festival at Los Angeles, Best Screenplay at the Qcinema International Film Festival in Philippines and theAudience Award for Best Film at the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia.
AJOOMMA is produced by Giraffe Pictures; with support from Singapore Film Commission, Korean Film Council and Seoul Film Commission. The film, still showing in cinemas, is distributed by Golden Village Pictures in Singapore.
Ting Si Hao is a music composer, arranger and producer with a vision for narrative storytelling through the language of music. Fascinated by the interplay of music and media, Si Hao started his media-scoring career working on films at the age of 17. Since then, Si Hao has scored a diverse range of feature films & TV series such as Netflix’s “Andre & His Olive Tree” (Dir. Josiah Ng), HBO Asia’s “Invisible Stories” (Dir. Ler Jiyuan) and most recently “Ajoomma 花路阿朱妈” (Dir. He Shuming / Prod. Anthony Chen). In 2022, he was also the youngest composer to be appointed music director for Singapore’s biggest multi-cultural parade “Chingay”.
