Preview: & Juliet by BASE Entertainment Asia

What if one of the world’s most famous love stories…didn’t end in the death of both lovers?

Making its Asian premiere and only Asian stop in Singapore, get ready as smash hit musical & Juliet hits our shores, for a strictly limited season from 21st September to 8th October 2023 at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands. Arriving in Singapore direct from a blockbuster season in Melbourne, where critics and audiences have raved about the show, the musical has also previously taken Broadway and West End by storm, receiving 9 nominations and winning 3 awards at the 2020 Laurence Olivier Awards.

& Juliet reimagines Shakespeare’s most renowned play, and imagines: what if Juliet didn’t die at the end of the play? Flipping the script on the greatest love story ever told, the musical offers Juliet a second chance at life and love, this time on her own terms. With a book by Emmy® Award-winning writer David West Read and music from legendary five-time Grammy® Award-winning songwriter/producer Max Martin, & Juliet empowers our heroine with a jukebox of pop anthems, including Since U Been Gone, Roar, Baby One More Time, Larger Than Life, That’s The Way It Is, Can’t Stop the Feeling, plus a brand- new song written especially for the show by Martin.

& Juliet’s Australian Producer, who is also producing the Singapore season, Michael Cassel said, “We have seen, time and time again, that audiences in Singapore love a good night out and & JULIET promises to do that. This remarkable production, takes decades of Max Martin’s extraordinary hits and wraps them around a hot new take on the greatest love story ever told – creating the biggest party in the city and we can’t wait to party in Singapore.”

Striving to make Singapore the Broadway of Asia, live entertainment company Base Entertainment Asia has always had their finger on the pulse of what audiences want to watch, and has successfully secured and presented many Asia Premieres of renowned international productions here.
