Rishi Budhrani, Singapore’s top comedian, actor and host, is set for a brand new stand-up show this September. Playing at the Drama Centre Theatre from 29th to 30th September, Artificial Indian explores themes of identity – with possible special appearance by some artificial intelligence.
After becoming the first stand-up comedian to host the National Day Parade last year, doing an entire sold-out stand-up comedy show about his experience, and getting away with it all, Rishi thought of taking a short breather. Until he saw terms like these invading his feed: Artificial Intelligence. Machine learning. Algorithms. ChatGPT. Sick of these terms, Rishi thought of a new spin on the term A.I. and discovered a concept that defined his Singaporean-Indian existence.
Back with new stories, Rishi makes fun of his latest appearances on international TV shows and venturing out of Singapore armed with nothing but jokes, what it means to be a “real Singaporean” and, how he started exploring the term; Artificial Indian. Will there be his signature humour on the news, politics and racial issues of the country? You bet!
Initially sold out due to popular demand, a new matinee show has been added on 30th September, so don’t miss your chance to catch one of Singapore’s favourite comedians, at his very best on a live comedy stage with his biggest and most global show yet, as you sit back, relax and enjoy some real jokes by an artificial Indian.
Artificial Indian plays from 29th to 30th September 2023 at the Drama Centre Theatre. Tickets available here
