
For their final production of 2023, local theatre company Pangdemonium is set to present critically-acclaimed musical Into the Woods this October and November. Featuring timeless music and lyrics by the late Stephen Sondheim, and a captivating story by James Lapine, this Tony Award-winning production promises a mesmerising experience where the worlds of beloved fairy tales collide.
Directed by Tracie Pang, Into the Woods presents a multiverse of madness, where beloved characters from classic fairy tales are gathered in a single story. Watch as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel encounter each other in a deep dark woods, chasing their dreams and desires, only to discover the unexpected ramifications of their actions, in a journey that offers humour, heartbreak and introspection for audiences of all ages.
Highlights of the production include the casting of West End stars Nathania Ong and Daniel Koek, who will play Cinderella and The Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince respectively. After her acclaimed performance as the first Singaporean actor to play Eponine in the West End’s Les Misérables, Nathania Ong is now gearing up for an exciting return to Singapore with this production. Meanwhile, Daniel Koek is perhaps best known as one of the youngest men to play the title role of Jean Valjean in the West End production of Les Misérables.
Nathania and Daniel will be joined by a company of incredibly talented performers, including Benjamin Chow, Chloe Chua, Inch Chua, Candice de Rozario, Mina Ellen Kaye, Frances Lee, Preston Lim, Sharon Mah, Andrew Marko, Victoria Mintey, Adrian Pang, Marissa Vojodi, Ethel Yap, Crenshaw Yeo, and Andy Yew.
