Botanical design studio This Humid House is presenting its first public event in the form of the collaborative making of a botanical installation live with renowned florist and educator Wagner Kreusch on 6 March 2024 at the Chamber of the Arts House.
Part performance, part demonstration, and part conversation, “Soft Power” draws conceptually from the language of plants and flowers presented in the context of diplomacy and furthers the medium’s storytelling potential in a historically significant space. This unique experience challenges the audience to literally and metaphorically ignore the flowers in the room no longer!
The creation of the installation will be scored live by Singapore-based electronic music producer and sound artist Dominic Khoo, aka OFTRT, whose work combines melodic soundscapes with glitchy granular rhythms. This 2-hour event concludes with a Q&A response to audience members’ questions submitted digitally during the performance.
