Come celebrate Mother’s Day this Sunday with Makan-Tastic at Yishun by Dine Inn!

Makan-tastic is a Community Dine Inn event presented by Esso LPG, and organised by Dine Inn. With 20 Dine Inn hosts participating at this event to share their specialty dishes, this communal gathering will bring together neighbours and food lovers. Besides sampling scrumptious home-cooked modern cuisines, family recipes, snacks and desserts, participants can also take part in Decorate Your Own Cupcake Workshop and pick up tips from cooking demonstrations by Dine Inn hosts.

Heres a sneak peak at some of the highlights you can look forward to at this edition!:

Ng Soo Leng’s Modern and Fusion Asian Food:

A fun-loving person who is passionate about cooking and sharing her home-cooked food with family and friends, Soo Leng was captivated by MasterChef Australia TV show which inspired her on her culinary journey, learning various western techniques from sous vide, smoking and fresh ice cream making. As someone who enjoys Asian food, she uses Asian ingredients in her cooking to create original recipes such as Mini Prawn Otah Cake with Mayo and Hae Bee Hiam (spicy sambal dried shrimps), Pulled Pork Rendang Penne, and Onion Marmalade Mini Brioche Donut, which she will be showcasing at the event.

Kharunnisa found her passion for cooking and baking in 2008 after graduating from culinary school. A self-taught baker who diligently upgrades her skills by attending cooking classes, researching online and getting reviews from her family and friends, she will be showcasing a variety of traditional and modern homemade desserts such as Low Fat Ondeh Ondeh, Durian Crème Brûlée, and Thai Glass Noodle Salad with Minced Chicken. Also, coming from a family of mixed heritage (her mother is a Thai-Chinese while her father is a Muslim-Malay), Kharunnisa and her mother will be showcasing a traditional Thai dish at the cooking demonstration – Thai-style Deep Fried Pomfret with Garlic Chilli , to celebrate Mother’s Day and pay tribute to their Thai heritage.

@dineinnofficial is an online platform dedicated to bring together the makers and lovers of food. This project is the brainchild of Mr Luke Lee and Chef Eric Teo, who believe that Singapore’s best kept secrets are hidden in plain sight. Dine Inn is poised to open up a new horizon for consumers who crave for sincerity and affection of home-cooked meals. With more than 400 home-cooked food, ranging from appetisers, entrees to desserts, guests can select from a variety of services, such as delivery, self-collection, dine at host’s place or even hiring a chef to cook at their place. Dine Inn has launched its website (accessible via desktop) on http://www.dineinn.com and mobile apps on App Store and Google Play.

Makan-tastic at Yishun takes place on 14 May from 10am-2pm at the pavilion beside 414 Yishun Ring Road.
