Having done a few articles on Dine Inn’s regular Makan-tastic community dining events, we’re pretty much assured of what a spectacularly different initiative Dine Inn is, full of wonderful, friendly hosts raring to share their passion for food and cooking with their guests. But this July, Dine Inn is doing something truly special: a much more private affair where guests can visit Dine Inn hosts’ homes and enjoy a full home cooked meal specially prepared by them! (and you can even get a 15% discount with our exclusive code BAKCHORMEEBOY15 when you make your booking online!)

Guests dining at Host's home

This July, Dine Inn is featuring several hosts each with their own specially designed meal for guests to partake in at their homes. From Japanese Chirashi to Mediterranean cuisine, there’s plenty of options to choose from, and what’s more, they’ll get to chat with the hosts up close and personal, putting a face to their food and perhaps even making a new friend along the way.

All eight of the hosts are very friendly and welcoming, and each menu sounds equally tantalizing. Daphne Ang, for example, will be hosting at her house in Farrer Park with a five course Japanese Chirashi Sushi Dinner, including Braised Shoyu Chicken with Bonito Okra and Grilled Shishamo Fish with Home-made Kuro-Mame. Daphne has spent a number of years living overseas, in both Japan and Canada, and has used her vast experience in other cultures to inspire her cooking skills.

Nur Khairunnisa

Meanwhile, Khairunissa will host at her home in Pasir Ris and serve dishes like Shabu Shabu Bistik and Oven Baked Cheesy Potatoes as well as Bumbu Wings. Having grown up in a ‘foodie’ environment, Khairunissa’s recipes are variations on her mother’s and grandmother’s, and the mother of two still manages to find time to travel and continue taking inspiration from the dishes she tries while on holiday and in Singapore.

Shirley Goh Geok Ling

Shirley Goh from Punggol is a florist and makeup artist by day, but also loves travelling and cooking. She will be preparing a 6 course Chinese mealincluding Teochew Steamed Fish and Steamed Prawns with Beancurd and Sweet Potato. As a makeup artist, she also loves to make her dishes look beautiful, in addition to being really tasty to suit just about any taste.

Serene Yeo will host at her home in Paya Lebar. Despite having learnt how to cook only 4 years ago when she moved to London, she will be preparing a sumptuous Japanese Nikkei inspired meal including Mentaiko Spaghetti and Red Snapper and Seafood Nabe in Soya Milk and White Miso Broth.

Janice Yam will be hosting at her place in Tampines and prepare a 5-course fusion meal, including trendy food such as Salmon Poke and even a Durian Pudding for dessert. An ex stay at home mom with experience in non-profit organisations, she’s used her opportunities to continually develop her passion and hone her skills each time.

Natasha Shakireen Osman.jpg

Natasha S. Osman will be hosting a huge dinner for 10 at her home at Farrer Road. Finding being in the kitchen cooking and baking is a therapeutic experience for Natasha, and fills her Italian/Asian fusion dishes with plenty of love and happiness. She will be serving dishes including Fresh Skewered Prawns with Pineapples and Beef Lasagna served with Salad.

Finally, vegetarians don’t have to worry, go get yourself a table with Raynne Ong from Siglap! Having grown up in a family of good cooks, and even ending up marrying one, she will be presenting a wholesome vegetarian Italian meal with Roasted Vegetable Lasagne and a Decadently Creamy Chocolate Mousse with Pistachios and Fruits. Healthy and delicious.
