Super Rugby Returns To Singapore For One Day Only This June

Singapore rugby fans rejoice! For one day this year, Super Rugby, the Southern Hemisphere’s pre-eminent rugby tournament, makes a coveted return to the Singapore National Stadium, as Singapore’s adopted home team, HITO-Communications SUNWOLVES faces off against South Africa’s BULLS on 30th June.

Fans will be pleased to support their respective teams as they revel in the pulse-racing atmosphere and enter into the fray. Co-based in Japan and Singapore, the HITO-Communications SUNWOLVES first made their debut in the 2016 Super Rugby season and is the first Asian team in Super Rugby.

This year also marks the first year Jamie Joseph has taken over as SUNWOLVES Head Coach, a former All Black who previously led the Highlanders to their first Super Rugby title in 2015, and is also the Japan National Team Head Coach, currently preparing the team for the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

A total of 16 matches (8 home and 8 away) for the SUNWOLVES will be played for the season this year, and the match on 30th June marks the only Super Rugby game in Singapore this year and the second time the SUNWOLVES take on the BULLS in Singapore, after the last match in 2016 where the SUNWOLVES were narrowly defeated by a small margin of 27-30. This time, they’re back with a vengeance, and the face-off is sure to be more exciting than ever.
