Preview: Singapore Symphony Orchestra goes to the Singapore Racecourse

The Singapore Symphony Orchestra goes West this Saturday, specifically, northwest, as they head to the Singapore Racecourse in Kranji for a free hour-long concert themed around horses! As part of their In Your Community Series, this community outreach concert is held in conjunction with the Singapore Tote Board’s 30th anniversary, and will take place at the Singapore Racecourse Parade Ring, with the support of the Singapore Turf Club as the venue partner.

Conducted bySSO Associate Conductor Joshua Tan, the programme will be themed around the equine, with tunes such as the Light Cavalry Overture as well as the William Tell Overture used in The Lone Ranger to be featured. In addition, various fringe activities will also be held, including appearances by the Singapore Turf Club’s horsey mascots Racer and Clover, and kids will be able to enjoy giveaway that include light sticks, paper lanterns and mooncakes in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Come celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival in true musical style with the SSO and the Singapore Turf Club this Saturday with this heart-racing medley of equestrian songs!

The SSO plays at the Parade Ring at the Singapore Turf Club Parade Ring on 22nd September 2018 at 7.30pm. Admission is free.
