Flag off the annual adrenaline-packed race weekend at Marina Bay Sands, as signature restaurants Adrift by David Myers, Spago Bar & Lounge by Wolfgang Puck, and Renku Bar & Lounge present live screenings and beverage specials from 20th to 22nd September 2019.
Over the weekend, party in style while tuning in to the exhilarating race at Adrift. Elevate the race experience with Adrift’s free-flow Dom Perignon package (S$268++ for three hours) to enjoy endless flutes of premium champagne. From 8pm to midnight, live bands will also drum up groovy beats and tunes to amp up the evening for an unforgettable night.
For a bird’s-eye view of the blazing action, make a pit stop at Spago Bar & Lounge, perched 57 stories above ground. Catch the live action in the comfort of the beautiful al fresco lounge over delicious bites such as the signature chicken “laksa” spring rolls (S$22++) and crispy Japanese fried chicken “karaage” with kewpie togarashi aioli and lemon (S$18++). Pair the food with innovative handcrafted cocktails, such as Love You Long Time (S$26++), a vodka-based concoction with tangerine, Thai basil and sparkling sake, and the sultry Forbidden Kiss (S$26++), a crimson gin-based cocktail combined with fresh raspberries, rose elixir and lemon.
Over at the hotel lobby, fans can also catch the live screenings over beverage specials at Marina Bay Sands’ all-day bar and lounge Renku. Enjoy five glasses of Renku Lager Draft Beer at S$60++, or opt for a bottle of Piper Heidsieck Brut NV at S$90++1 . Alternatively, fuel up with refreshing cocktails and sparkling wines at Bread Street Kitchen, and soak in the mesmerizing view of the waterfront promenade. The bartending team has specially concocted two cocktail for this year’s race season: the Tankslapper (S$20++), a tropical tequila-based tipple with pineapple, lime, chilli and champagne, as well as the Formula Libre (S$20++), featuring Plantation 3 Stars Rum with coke reduction and a squeeze of lime. Champagne lovers can also enjoy a selection of bottled bubbles at special prices over the weekend.
Race fans can enjoy all-day 1-for-1 classic cocktails at American restaurant Yardbird Southern Table & Bar. Sip on hand-crafted tipples such as the signature Blackberry Bourbon Lemonade, a blend of American whisky with blackberries, cardamom, lemon and club soda, as well as Yardbird’s Old Fashioned featuring bacon-infused American whisky. Meanwhile, TAO Group is set to launch the F1 party circuit into overdrive from 19th to 22nd September with a host of race-themed activities and drink promotions across its three venues – LAVO Italian Restaurant & Rooftop Bar, AVENUE Lounge, and MARQUEE Nightclub.
Party-goers and race fans can kick-off the exhilarating race weekend with artisanal cocktails at Avenue on Thursday, 19th September, as the bespoke cocktail lounge is hosting WIDE AWAKE, a weekly event with live DJ sets from 10pm till late and 1-for-1 cocktails, house pours, beers, and house wines from 7pm to 9pm. Avenue will also have a guest DJ performing on Friday and Saturday respectively, with the acts to be announced soon.
At MARQUEE, the nightclub will hold MARQUEE Race Weekend, an F1-themed weekend featuring a line-up top-billed local and international guest DJs each night from 20 to 21 September. Party-goers can look forward to high-energy DJ sets and a fully immersive clubbing experience that will make Marquee the perfect after-party pitstop.
Over at LAVO, the Italian restaurant & rooftop bar is set to be an exciting party pitstop as its famed Party Brunch returns for its second edition on Saturday, 21 September. For the F1 weekend, Party Brunch will feature the theme “Race of the Wild”, where guests can fuel up on free-flowing Perrier-Jouët champagne, house wines, house pours and beer and sumptuous food. This boozy, day-time event takes place on Saturday from 1pm to 5pm, with early bird (limited) and advance tickets available online from now till 20th September. The merrymaking continues in the evening for LAVO’s weekly Saturday Soiree, which will see an F1-themed edition with an international guest DJ helming the decks. On Sunday night, fans will be able to watch the Grand Prix action from LAVO as the restaurant will be hosting live screenings of the F1 race.
Beyond race weekend, visitors can expect plenty of delicious specialties offered by Marina Bay Sands’ other restaurants. For the month of August, award-winning New York burger and milkshake sensation Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer is offering a refreshing twist to its line-up of monthly burger specials with the brand new Kimchi Shrimp Burger (S$26++). A crunchy patty filled with ground tiger shrimp is seasoned with Korean pepper paste and topped with an appetizing kimchi coleslaw and creamy garlic and lime aioli. Enjoy the savoury burger with a glass of chilled craft beer or a towering CrazyShake to complete the meal.
From 26th August to 1st September, Bread Street Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay celebrates National Burger Week with an extended menu of five different burgers, each available with a beverage pairing that best complements the dish. Relish the grilled lobster burger (S$32++), featuring chunky lobster meat drizzled in marie rose sauce atop a mixed leaf salad and a side of crispy chips, with a glass of chilled Blue Moon Belgian White (additional S$10++). Another highlight is the Impossible burger (S$29++), featuring the plant-based meat patty topped with sliced avocado, sriracha mayo and a side of fries, best paired with a glass of skinny lager (additional S$10++).
Indulge in the freshest and finest at celebrity chef restaurant db Bistro & Oyster Bar, as the restaurant introduces The Perfect Pairing, featuring its signature seafood platters paired with Château d’Esclans Rosé. The platter features premium catch such as fresh oysters, Maine lobsters, jumbo prawns, ceviche and tartares. Elevate the oceanic flavours with a sip of Chateau d’Esclans Rosé, made using grapes from Provence, France. On 13th September, gather your loved ones for a hearty Mid-Autumn Festival dinner (S$80++ per adult, S$38++ per child) at Rise, as the restaurant serves a medley of time-honoured classics and homely favourites. In addition to its sumptuous international buffet line-up, guests can savour dishes such as whole steamed barramundi with superior soy, stir-fried sea cucumber with beancurd and broccoli, and eight treasure rice. End the meal on a sweet note with deluxe desserts such as cold Chinese bird’s nest soup, pu’er crème brûlée, and an assortment of exquisite mooncakes. Children can also participate in a lantern walk at Rise’s herb garden.
From 20th to 29th September, journey across the globe and explore Irish cuisine and premium produce at Rise at Marina Bay Sands. The dinner buffet highlights include fresh Kelly oysters, organic salmon from Galway Bay, Irish stew, as well as an assortment of Irish craft cheeses such as the creamy Gubeen cheese, handmade Cashel Blue cheese, as well as the Crozier Blue cheese.
For the month of August, enjoy a tipple or two at Yardbird Southern Table & Bar, as the restaurant rolls out weekday beverage specials. On Mondays, pair your meal with full-bodied wines as the restaurant offers selected bottles at S$50++ each all-day. On Wednesdays (6pm – 11pm), Yardbird’s Ladies Night presents 1-for-1 classic cocktails.
