Preview: The Staff Room by Impromptu Meetings

After their last online outing with The Late Night Show with Xiao Ming, Impromptu Meetings are back again to disrupt your routines, with a brand new show this September.

Titled The Staff Room, the show, aptly enough, takes place on the week of Teachers’ Day, and celebrates the ups and downs of teaching life. Starring Impromptu Meetings members Miriam Cheong, Adeeb Fazah and Cheryl Tan Yun Xin, watch as three teachers compete to be Xiao Ming Secondary School’s nominee for a prestigious teaching award.

While one is a traditional by-the-book type who teaches mathematics, another is a TikToker PE teacher trying to remain relevant and the other is the airy fairy, arty farty art teacher. As extreme as their personalities and teaching methodologies are, you’re likely to recognise a few characters reminiscent of your own school teachers, as the rivalry heats up and they compete to be the best teacher in the school.

Which teacher will prevail as the nominee? Only one way to find out, as Impromptu Meetings celebrates Teachers’ Day this weekend in the best way possible – a Zoom meeting/online theatrical comedy show that takes you straight to the good, the bad, and the hilarious side of the staff room.

The Staff Room plays on 3rd and 4th September 2021 online. Register for the show here
