Come January, get ready for Base Entertainment Asia’s You Must Believe in Spring -Joanna Dong Lunar New Year Concert. Marking Joanna’s first-ever headliner Lunar New Year concert to commemorate the coming of spring, the jazz artiste, actress and host will serenade you with her dulcet tones and catchy tunes at the Sands Theatre.

“Growing up in urban Singapore where it is summer all year round, I don’t think I fully appreciated Lunar New Year celebrations beyond the feasting and festivities, until the pandemic happened. This is the first in a long time that generations of Singaporeans have shared a common experience of adversity. It always takes so much courage and strength to start all over again, so it is with a new year. I hope to spend some quality time with my fans and gather all that positive energy and collectively take big bold strides into the New Year, blessed by one another,” said Joanna.

Joanna became a household name after her famous 2017 appearance in the reality talent show “Sing! China”. She has since received various film, stage and television awards for her work including the Best Entertainment Hostess at the 2019 Asia Rainbow TV Awards. Following Joanna’s sold-out, two-night concert in 2018 for the EP So Here I Am, You Must Believe in Spring also marks her first live concert since the pandemic and has been specially conceptualised to revisit the spirit of what it means to celebrate the coming of spring.

Promising joy and hope to uplift audiences’ spirits, Joanna will be curating a special seasonal repertoire for the concert, with special interpretations of Gong Xi Gong Xi, and He Xin Nian with her touch of warmth and whimsy. The setlist will also include spring-themed English jazz standards such as Joy Spring and You Must Believe in Spring. For the first time ever, Joanna will also be performing her Lunar New Year single Kuai Le Le Le live.

“I will be exploring a refreshing approach to Lunar New Year music arrangement for You Must Believe in Spring and I hope audiences will leave the concert feeling refreshed and inspired to find new meaningful and personal ways of their own to celebrate the season,” added Joanna.
