Preview: Nom Nom Cinema presents The Grand Budapest Hotel

From luxurious restaurants, to street snacks freshly served, have you ever watched a movie that featured food that looked so good, you wanted to reach right out and take a bite of whatever they were having? From the brilliant, creative minds behind Andsoforth, the producers of hit immersive dining experiences such as Around The World in 80 Days and the ‘fun dining’ of Restaurant Absurdities comes a brand new project where you can consume the food straight off the screen – Nom Nom Cinema.

In the first gourmet edition of the series, Nom Nom Cinema tackles the Wes Anderson favourite The Grand Budapest Hotel, and relive the quirky and chaotic misadventures of the guests and staff at the titular hotel. Not only will you enjoy the film in the comfort of Andsoforth’s custom-built space HAUS217, key scenes are also paired with a curated selection of dishes to taste as you watch.

Expect a menu that’s as delightfully eccentric, yet refined as the movie itself. Look out for Mendl’s Courtesan au Chocolat—a dessert that’s become synonymous with the film’s aesthetic, while guests will also get to indulge in savoury dishes inspired by the behind-the-scenes service quarters of the grandiose hotel. And what dining experience would be complete without some whimsical cocktails as well, each one a nod to the film’s rich colour palette and timeless style?

“Our goal is to craft an evening that’s not merely a screening but a symphony of flavors, sights, and sounds,” said Stuart Wee, the founder of Nom Nom Cinema and Andsoforth. “We believe that the right meal can turn a scene into a memory, and a sip of a cocktail can transport you right into the heart of the story.”

This isn’t just about pairing food with film; it’s about mixing a dash of nostalgia with a sprinkle of innovation to create a multi-sensory experience. In fact, Andsoforth encourages attendees to immerse themselves further by coming dressed as a hotel guest, ready to escape from real life into the world of Wes Anderson.

It’s an invitation to to be missed, as Nom Nom Cinema calls on cinephiles and foodies alike to join in this grand escapade. It’s more than a movie; it’s a journey—a culinary exploration that promises to delight, surprise, and satiate. Don’t just watch the movie, taste the adventure too.

Nom Nom Cinema Presents: The Grand Budapest Hotel runs from 23rd November to 29th December 2023 at HAUS217, 217 Lavender Street, Singapore 338772. Come dressed as a hotel guest from The Grand Budapest Hotel! Tickets and more information available here
