For any Singaporean who’s ever picked up a musical instrument, Swee Lee is an immediately recognizable household name. Rising from a humble brand stocking and selling instruments to school musical groups, they’ve come a long way and essentially have become Southeast Asia’s leading omnichannel musical instrument retailer, with stores not just in Singapore, but across the region, with not just instruments, but vinyls, and even a music academy.
Now, the heritage brand is entering yet another new phase of their development, with the opening of an all-encompassing music and lifestyle store at Clarke Quay, providing a fully immersive music experience, as they allow visitors to demo and purchase instruments such as guitars, vinyl records, and audio equipment.

Housed in a former warehouse, the 506 square metre space feels massive upon first entering, where one is greeted by a swathe of vinyls, including the latest pop hits and vintage treasures, available to purchase or sample at dedicated listening stations. Great for an unusual date idea, or simply for music enthusiasts to find a quiet space in the city centre to relax over their favourite artists, with the selection of records curated by music tastemaker and media powerhouse NME.
For customers with a bigger budget or a laser-focused intent, they can make an appointment at the exclusive By Appointment Only service, which provide dedicated spaces for creators to demo new products, lounge, and a guitar cellar where the most sought-after instruments are housed – at the right price of course. The specially-curated selection of musical instruments includes top-tier brands such as Fender, Taylor, Martin, MONO, Heritage Guitars, Harmony, and more.

Not only that, but visitors can also chill out from the heat at the in-house cafe and bar, offering a selection of small bites, locally roasted coffee, exclusive cocktails by award-winning bar, Employees Only, craft beer and wine. Customers can also take refreshments into the Artist Lounge and at the vinyl listening stations to savour, making for a multisensory experience.
Right in the centre of the store is a sitting area and performance space, with a lifestyle section offering an assortment of merchandise, including clothing, bags, and gifts, featuring top-tier brands like Bose, AlAIAl, and Teenage Engineering. This space will play host to a variety of events, ranging from live performances to product showcases and community-driven activations, and even trivia nights, all with the aim of offering up a dynamic and interactive environment and vibrant atmosphere of musical discovery to spark deeper relationships between people, culture, and music.

Finally, Swee Lee Clarke Quay also retails its lineup of music instruments and equipment. From guitars to audio equipment, vinyl records, and beyond, our offerings cater to all music enthusiasts, whether you’re a beginner looking to start out, or an expert looking to create a global phenomenon of a streaming channel. Customers can test out the equipment within the space itself before buying it, with dedicated spaces to plug and play, while those who already know what they want can place an order in advance, and pop over to the Click and Collect counter where customers can seamlessly pick up their purchases within two hours of placing their order online.
“Swee Lee Clarke Quay is not just a music store; it’s the epicenter of our vision to unite the music community – where we create authentic experiences that inspire and welcome all. It’s a place where artists can inspire, fans can engage, and the vibrancy of music can be felt in every corner,” said David Nam Le, General Manager, Vista Musical Instruments.

With a focus on inclusivity, the new Swee Lee store at Clarke Quay is set to become a landmark for Singapore’s music scene, where every visit strikes a chord and fosters a deeper connection with the art of music. All aspects of the space are thoughtfully developed for music lovers and musicians at any stage of their creative journey, and the space is now ready to welcome anyone and everyone to discover the power of music and the community.
Kuok Meng Ru, Group CEO and Founder of Caldecott Music Group, which owns Swee Lee, shared: “Swee Lee Clarke Quay represents our vision to transform customer experience at our brick-and-mortar stores, cultivating a dynamic community-centric retail space, thoughtfully designed to go beyond just buying and selling. The space is a dynamic hub for programming, networking, education, fostering connections, unleashing creativity, and so much more. It’s not just about what we sell; it’s all about the experiences we create and the relationships we help nurture.”
Swee Lee’s new Clarke Quay outlet is located at Blk 3B River Valley Rd, #01-06 Clarke Quay, Singapore 179021, 10am-10pm daily. More information available on their website and Instagram.
