Preview: The Phantom of the Opera returns to the Sands Theatre this May

Base Entertainment Asia, in association with The Really Useful Group and Crossroads Live, is thrilled to announce the long-awaited return of The Phantom of the Opera to Singapore. The beloved musical will take the stage at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands, for a strictly limited season beginning May 2025.

After captivating Singaporean audiences in 2013 and 2019, this monumental production returns by popular demand—ready to enchant once more with its unforgettable music, sweeping romance, and timeless tale of obsession and mystery. A perennial favourite among theatre lovers in Singapore, The Phantom of the Opera promises an evening of drama, spectacle, and emotion.

Based on Gaston Leroux’s classic 1910 novel Le Fantôme de l’Opéra, the story follows a mysterious masked figure who haunts the Paris Opera House. Consumed by love for the young soprano Christine Daaé, he uses both brilliance and manipulation to make her a star—at a terrifying cost.

Leading the cast is West End star Ben Forster as the Phantom, opposite Grace Roberts as Christine. They are joined by an outstanding international ensemble of 37 performers hailing from the United Kingdom, United States, South Africa, Australia, and beyond.

Hailed as one of the most beautiful and spectacular productions in theatre history, The Phantom of the Opera has been seen by over 160 million people in 195 cities across 47 territories and performed in 21 languages. Since its 1986 West End premiere and 1988 Broadway debut, it has won over 70 major theatre awards and set historic records—becoming Broadway’s longest-running show in 2006 with its 7,486th performance.

Directed by Associate Director Rainer Fried, with Kristen Blodgette as Music Supervisor and Denny Berry as Associate Choreographer, this production blends world-class talent with iconic music by Andrew Lloyd Webber to create a once-in-a-generation theatrical experience.

Don’t miss your chance to witness The Phantom of the Opera—a haunting and heart-stirring phenomenon that continues to mesmerise audiences around the world.

The Phantom of the Opera plays from 9th May 2025 at the Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands. Tickets available here
