One of the highlights of the night will undoubtedly be Giacomo Puccini’s classic Messa di Gloria, to be performed in its entirety for the first time in Singapore. Accompanying them will be the Singaporean chamber orchestra, re:SOUND, to perform the Puccini opera, and unique in that they are led not by a dominant artistic director or principal conductor, but by the musicians themselves. In addition, a different repertoire will be performed each night to showcase the choir’s range and versatility including Den Fyrste Song eg Høyra Fekk (First Song My Mother Sang to Me) and other Norwegian songs. For the first half of the night, the choir will also be accompanied by none other than Magne Draagen, Director of Music and organist of Nidaros Cathedral, as he will support the choir on the Esplanade’s incomparable pipe organ.
