Think it’s too soon to celebrate another Golden Jubilee? Think again, as Singapore’s favourite drag superstar celebrates his very own 50th birthday in 2018!
Dream Academy starts off their 2018 season with a real boom as veteran comedian KUMAR returns to the stage to head his own solo show next February. Directed by Selena Tan and with a writing team headed by Benjamin ‘Miyagi’ Lee, KUMAR 50 plays at the iconic Capitol Theatre from 28th February to 11th March for 13 shows only. In the show, KUMAR will be dishing out stories that chart his birth (and his girth) in each decade of his life, showing us the hard truths as audiences are brought on a romp through 50 long years of love, laughs and plenty of brand new material that’ll have audiences chortling and choking back tears of laughter as he tickles at your funny bones.
For those who’ve been with him during his Boom-Boom Room years, you’ll also be treated to a surprise dose of nostalgia as well, as KUMAR brings the showgirls back to perform onstage with him, shaking it up to the top of the pops from Whitney Houston to Taylor Swift.
Get ready for a truly raucous show that’ll help you see all fifty shades of gay as Singapore’s most iconic drag queen takes to the stage once again and completely blows SG 50 out of the water with the promise of giving it to you real good in this night you’ll be sure to remember, even 50 years from now.
