Good Dog People SingaPaw Showcase: Local Designers Team Up For A Good Cause For Good Dogs
Dog fashion has never been particularly cutting edge, with many pet owners choosing to simply dress their dogs up in the cutest way possible for those sweet sweet Instagram likes. But what if we told you dogs and their owners have the potential to set fashion trends, strutting down the runway in some seriously exciting new gear?
At the 2018 Singapore Pet Expo, get a taste of just what these canines are capable of when they work their stuff over the weekend. Featuring good dogs & their adopted owners, dog lovers, celebrities and models from NOW Model Management, responsible pet company the Good Dog People presents an all new showcase of collections by Singapore creatives and the all new Good Dog People SingaPaw Showcase.
Teaming up with Godfather of Fashion Daniel Boey (himself a recent owner to adopted shelter dog Leia), the Good Dog People SingaPaw Showcase will feature dog fashions created by local brands and labels including Thomas Wee, Binary Style, ohpopdog and Carrie K. Aimed at raising awareness for responsible dog ownership, 10% of the proceeds from the SingaPaw Showcase goes towards supporting the big move of animal shelters from Pasir Ris to Sungei Tengah.
Highlights of the fashions on show include 11 limited edition handcrafted silver dog tags designed by 11 Singaporean personalities, including initiators Daniel Boey, designer Carolyn Kan of Carrie K, Good Dog People founder Terry Peh, singer Nathan Hartono, chef Justin Foo and more.
Meanwhile, not only will your pooch get to try on new clothes, owners get a chance to twin with their favourite pet as well as Binary Style releases a limited edition collection of scarves and bandannas inspired by Singapore’s construction sites that are home to local street dogs. Ohpopdog will also be releasing ‘Pawnarakan’ Peranakan inspired bandanas featuring unique doggie elements, each one artisan crafted, conceptualised, hand-drawn and printed from scratch.
Finally, Good Dog People themselves will be launching a set of high performance braided rope leashes and martingale collars encouraging dog owners to lead an active lifestyle, each one hand-made with military-grade ballistic nylon offering maximum resistance to shear force.
Come support both our local designers and rally behind our doggy friends at the Singapore Pet Expo this April, and you might just return home with a new accessory in tow, ready to step out and walk the dog in true style.
Good Dogs and People shows at the Singapore Pet Expo on 7th April, 4.30pm at Singapore Expo Hall 7. For tickets, visit their website here
