Village People to Headline Singapore Rugby Sevens 2018

Village People

Think it’s fun to stay at the YMCA? No need for that this April, as the Village People themselves descend upon the National Stadium to headline the entertainment segment of the 2018 HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens!

With the Sevens taking place over 28th – 29th April, Village People are set to dazzle the 55,000 strong crowd with their outrageous onstage costumes, infectious tunes and singalong lyrics. Besides the unforgettable Y.M.C.A., you can be sure that they’ll be performing the full spectrum of their hits, from Go West to In the Navy, and will have you boogieing the whole afternoon away as they perform on late Sunday afternoon, before the Cup third and fourth place play-off.

Village People will be supported by four of our very own homegrown acts – acoustic rock duo Jack & Rai, versatile veteran band Jive Talkin’, Singapore Management University (SMU) Afro-Brazillian percussion band Samba Masala, and 7-piece multilingual band Too Much Drama, as they play live at the FunZone at the 100PLUS Promenade over both days of the weekend.

Not only will fans get to enjoy these exciting live music acts, songs will be abound throughout the entire weekend. The entire stadium will become your own giant K-Box as organisers are set to play 15 top voted tunes by fans via an ongoing Facebook contest, while even before match day itself, Music After 7s returns at Clarke Quay on Friday 27th April and feature some of Clarke Quay’s best local and regional bands over three nights, including Celtic band Gan Ainm and rock bands Sterofly and Sepia. HSBC Singapore Rugby 7s ticket-holders can also enjoy various F&B promotions throughout Clarke Quay, as well as a free shuttle bus service from the National Stadium to Clarke Quay for fans on both Saturday and Sunday evenings.
