There are days you crave Japanese food, and then there are days you crave premium Japanese food. And there’s probably no better place to find that than at En Sakaba restaurant.
En Sakaba prides itself on the freshness and quality of their cuisine, served farm to table and imported directly from Japan. And at their JEM and Capital Tower outlets, they’re showcasing the very best of their produce with a delicious Hotpot Buffet, offering unlimited servings of Grade A5 Champion Miyazaki Wagyu, Premium Zuwai Queen Crab and Iberico Pork within 90 minutes, now going at a special price of $78++ per pax (from the usual $108++).
The highlight of the hotpot is without a doubt the hand-picked Grade A5 Champion Miyazaki Wagyu, as certified. Imported fresh from the Miyazaki ranch, each slice is gorgeously marbled, and a cut above just about any other Wagyu beef we’ve had. After swishing it for a couple of seconds in the hotpot (they use quality Japanese Kombu for the broth), we enjoyed how the fat literally melted in our mouth, and how soft, aromatic and well-textured it was. As servings are unlimited, eat to your heart’s content.
An alternative you could go for is the Iberico Pork. Well known for its fat to meat ratio and quality, it’s one of the meats we would look forward to. Meanwhile the Queen Crab offers a new luxurious seafood, flavour dimension to the hotpot, surprisingly sweet and very easy to remove the meat from the crab. At the end of your meal, you’ll even be asked if you’d like to use the remaining bonito broth as a base for cooking porridge, allowing the pearl rice (or udon) to soak up all the flavours from the ingredients tossed in, and tasting exactly like a home-cooked meal.
Besides the premium hotpot ingredients, the buffet also comes with a number of side dishes (one serving per person), ranging from a 3-variety sashimi platter (salmon, tuna and botan shrimp), to a tempura variety platter, and even little appetizers, including a much sought after tamago topped with mentai and ikura roe that really hits the spot. Guests will also end their meal with a scoop of Haagen-Dazs ice cream, with a choice between matcha, yuzu or vanilla. We personally went with yuzu, as its vibrant citrus notes helped to clean our palate after such a rich meal.
If you ever feel like having quality Japanese food, then En Sakaba is the answer to your dining needs. With a cozy ambience, and attentive staff, Come on an empty stomach; you’ll leave with both your stomach and your tastebuds completely satisfied with the top grade ingredients used.
