LONDON – Are you ready to relive the good old days, let your hair down and rock? Chris D’Arienzo and Ethan Popp’s beloved jukebox musical Rock of Ages is going on a new tour of the UK starting this September!
Beginning its tour in Bromley’s Churchill Theatre, Rock of Ages tells a tale of chasing dreams set against a backdrop of everyone’s favourite rock songs, with a repertoire of artists ranging from Twisted Sister to Foreigner, REO Speedwagon to Journey, featuring 25 of everyone’s favourites hits from ‘The Final Countdown’ to ‘We Built This City’. Through these songs, we watch as aspiring singer Sherrie Christian hops off a bus to chase her musician dreams in Los Angeles. Finding a kindred spirit in bar-back Drew after he fishes her out from some trouble, the young lovers set off on a journey fraught with adventure, stardom, and plenty of rock and roll.
Cast members announced include Jodie Steele (Wicked, Heathers The Musical) and Luke Walsh (Boybands Forever, Antony and Cleopatra) as leads Sherrie and Drew respectively, while other cast members will include ITV Pop Idol alumna Zoe Birkett (The Bodyguard, Thriller Live) as Justice, Kevin Kennedy (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, We Will Rock You) as Dennis, Lucas Rush (American Idiot, We Will Rock You) as Lonny, Andrew Carthy (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Loserville) as Franz, Vas Constanti (In The Heights, Miss Saigon) as Hertz and Rhiannon Chesterman (Mrs Henderson Presents, Hairspray) as Regina.
