Arbora: One Faber Group Unveils New Garden Dining Concept

One Faber Group has unveiled Arbora – a brand new hilltop garden dining concept atop the majestic hills and views of Mount Faber. Named after the Latin word “Arbor”, referring to trees, the concept is naturally all about the trees one of Singapore’s earliest parks is surrounded by, of which the area spans over 40 hectares of treetops and penty of flora and fauna.

Located at Faber Peak, 100 metres above sea level and far and away from the bustling city life, Arbora promises a setting full of tranquility as it leads guests to a photo-perfect skyline backdrop, completing the atmospheric experience with a lineup of appetising Western food and aperitifs.

Even amidst its indoor setting, Arbora features a design allowing its natural surroundings to take centre stage, while a 13 by 3-metre lush foliage feature wall is no doubt makes for the most Instagrammable photo backdrop. The alfresco area even features a heart-shaped tree and a Bell of Happiness, enticing couples about to tie the knot to make it their go to destination.

Arbora’s restaurant itself offers up an all-day dining menu with a whopping 35 selections created by Executive Chef Kenny Yeo. With over three decades of culinary experience from stints at Le Centenaire, a Michelin 3-Star Hotel in France, and the French kitchen of JQ Concepts Pte Ltd in Taipei, Chef Kenny is also the inspiration behind Arbora’s sister Dusk Restaurant & Bar, also located on Faber Peak.

Some of Arbora’s menu items include Western favourites with a twist; the Rack of Lamb (S$36++) is served with homemade prune sauce instead of mint jelly, while the Fisherman’s Stew (S$42++), a tomato-based seafood broth, includes slow-cooked tender baby abalones sure to get some mouths watering.

Arbora also positions itself as a good choice for communal dining, with plenty of  value sets for for groups of 2, 4 and 6 guests, reasonably priced at S$75 for 2 persons for 1 snack, 2 mains and 1 dessert; S$140 for 4 persons for 2 snacks, 4 mains and 2 desserts or S$200 for 6 persons that includes 3 snacks, 6 mains and 3 desserts.

And when you’re done with your food, we also recommend ordering up some of Arbora’s thirst quenching drinks. One is spoilt for choice when they feast their eyes on Arbora’s selection of fresh-pressed juices, craft beers and botanical-inspired cocktails, perfect for  both the health-conscious and  cocktail connoisseurs.

Arbora’s made-to-order fresh-pressed juices come in three variations; with each drink made from locally sourced ingredients, one can rest easy as they sip on these healthy concoctions while #supportinglocal. For those into superfoods, we’d recommend the Tropi-Kale (S$12++), which as its name suggests, features kale blended with pineapple and green apple, or the beetroot based Anti-Oxidant (S$12++), a multi-nutritional drink that also blends in a refreshing hint of orange zest to sweeten the earthy flavours. Meanwhile, the Sun-kissed Quencher (S$12++) is served with fresh-cut watermelon cubes to ensure the drink has a little bite.

Arbora even features its very own range of craft beers, offering up  small batches of lager, summer ale and American pale ale (with each bottle going for S$12++). These beers are produced locally with no preservatives, are less bitter and carbonated than most mass produced beers, and is suitable for any time of day to cool off. Arbora’s summer ale is malty with a hint of floral aroma, while the American pale ale possesses more body due to its roasted malt flavour and a tinge of spice, with more variations still to come in future.

And of course, no trip to Arbora would be complete without a taste of their handcrafted cocktails. Mixologists have innovated a total of five bespoke Arbora cocktails, expressing their creativity in drinks such as the Botanic Zest (S$15++), which features juniper berries and fresh young julienned ginger infused with honey mixed in Roku Gin, while the Honey & Spice (S$15++) combines Pernod and triple sec with wild honey, star anise and kaffir lime.

Says Ms Jessie Tan, Director, Business Operations: “The launch of Arbora marks a new milestone for One Faber Group with a new and differentiated garden dining experience, which complements the offering at the popular Dusk Restaurant & Bar. Our brand-new dining concept also serves to draw the locals’ interest to (re)discover Mount Faber Park and relive nostalgic memories, while offering overseas visitors a truly memorable time worth returning for.”
