Preview: Hole by the Royal Court Theatre

“We’re harpies.
We’re a three headed bitch.
We’ve been guarding the gates.
Now we’re throwing them open.”

There’s a strange hole in the ground, and three women are inside, forcing their way out. They’re singing. They’re moving. They’re taking up space. And they refuse to apologise.

The Royal Court Theatre presents Ellie Kendrick’s debut play, presented as part of the Royal Court’s Jerwood New Playwrights programme (which produces three new works a year from emerging writers within the first 10 years of their career). Directed by Helen Goalen and award-winning Abbi Greenland (of RASHDASH), watch as this performance about power play and origins combined word, music and movement.

“This is a take over. We’re taking over.
You came here to look.
We’re giving you something to watch.”

Welcome to Hole.

Hole plays from 28th November 2018 to 12th January 2019 at The Royal Court Theatre, London. Tickets available here
