Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali has just received its very first Green Globe™ Certification, strengthening their pledge to become one of the largest hotel groups committed to Green Globe Certification with all properties getting onboard.
As the premier worldwide certification program developed specifically for the travel and tourism industry, Green Globe™ assists organizations to improve their economic, social and environmental sustainability, while rewarding and recognizing ongoing allegiance to the overall movement, providing hotel and resort organizations a framework to conduct a comprehensive assessment of their environmental sustainability performance, through which they can monitor improvements and achieve certification.
The certification was awarded to Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali upon completion of a series of in-depth audits that fulfilled criteria such as sustainability pertaining to social, economic, environmental and cultural heritage management, making Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali is one of only several hotel and resort brands in Indonesia to achieve recognition for implementing sustainable business practices.
Says Mr. Horst Walther Jones, General Manager of Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali: “We are delighted with our first Green Globe™ certification and hope that it marks the beginning of many more similar accreditations. It is directly in line with the philosophy held by our respected developer/owning company, PT. Summarecon Agung Tbk, to protect the environment and adhere to sustainable business practices. This is an exceptional achievement for all of our team members, especially as we are only in our second year of operation. It is further proof that we are dedicated to making a positive contribution to sustainable tourism development on the island of Bali. We are particularly focused on treading lightly and minimizing our impact on the immediate environment.”
