Jean de Brunhoff’s The Story of Babar tells the classic tale of a little elephant who finds his place in the world, with lessons of understanding and hope. Performed by British organist Tom Bell, alongside drama educator and narrator Oniatta Effendi, the two will bring this moving story to life, illustrated by pieces ranging from Vierne’s Carillon de Westminster to Bach’s Toccata, Adagio and Figure in C major, Bliss’s Ballet for Children to of course, Poulenc’s L’histoire de Babar, le petit éléphant. With his invigorating, brilliant and compelling playing, watch as this organ master and Oniatta’s voice present the timeless Story of Babar this June.
The Story of Babar plays on 15th June 2019 at the Victoria Concert Hall. Tickets available from SISTIC
