Dance Dance Dance: World Supremacy Battlegrounds Singapore 2019 by EVOK3 and *SCAPE
As one of Singapore’s biggest street dance competitions, World Supremacy Battlegrounds Singapore enjoyed a sold-out show in its first year, and is back this year for a second round. In support of Singapore’s street dance community and to acknowledge its positive impact on youths, Guest of Honour, Ms Grace Fu, Minister of Culture, Community and Youth, will be present at the event.
World Supremacy Battlegrounds Singapore is a high-energy dance competition that showcases the skills, creativity, talent and artistry of street dancers, and is now considered one of the biggest and most prestigious international street dance competitions in the Southern hemisphere. The international championship is held in Australia and brings the best dancers from around the world.
In its first edition, some of the best dance crews from Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia were featured. It gathered a crowd of over 1,500 in attendees, volunteers, youth leaders and dancers who battled it out for the title, bragging rights and a chance to represent at the WSB International Championship in Sydney, Australia. As the second edition arrives this September, a total of three divisions will be available for participants – Varsity (13 to 18 years old, 4-15 dancers), Cell (no age limit, 2-3 dancers) and Open (no age limit, 4-15 dancers).
