Hotels & Holidays: Flavours of Peru Back at Mandarin Orchard’s Triple Three this September

In collaboration with the Embassy of Peru in Singapore and the Commercial Office of Peru in Jakarta, Mandarin Orchard Singapore’s award-winning buffet restaurant, Triple Three presents Flavours of Peru for the second year running. From 6th to 15th September for dinner only, guest chef Jaime Arbulú Saldaña brings diners on a discovery of Peru on a plate with his acclaimed rendition of classic Peruvian dishes.

“Peru has been widely recognised by the international community for its cuisine and indigenous ingredients. Flavours of Peru will showcase Peruvian food as the star of the specially curated dinner buffet at Triple Three. We want to give audiences in Singapore a taste of the unique diversity of Peru’s culinary offerings that are sure to delight even the most discerning palates,” shares Ambassador of Peru in Singapore, Carlos Vasquez.

Chef Jaime brings with him more than 15 years of culinary expertise working in South America, and vast knowledge of traditional Peruvian cuisine. Diners can expect to indulge in a scrumptious assortment of traditional dishes starting from Ceviche—an appetiser made from raw fish marinated in lime, onion, and chilli; to Lomo Saltado—strips of sirloin stir-fried with onion and tomatoes.

Look out for favourites such as Picante de Camarones—a traditional spicy seafood stew made with aji colorado (Peruvian pepper); Sudado de Pescado—fish stewed in tomato and onion sauce; and Arroz Con Pato—a family-style chicken and rice dish. Also not to be missed are Chef Jaime’s take on classic desserts including Supspiro de Limeña—a Lima-style caramel pudding with port flavoured meringue; and Tres Leches, a sponge cake soaked in three kinds of milk—evaporated milk, condensed milk, and heavy cream.

For a refreshing taste of Peru, try Peru’s traditional cocktail – the Pisco Sour, made with Pisco Elixir, lime juice, egg whites, and Angostura bitters. Each glass will be available at $10++. Plus, catch a special performance by renowned musician Manual Granados Eliseo Rios who will be serenading diners every night from 6:45pm to 9:15pm with traditional Andean flute music.

Flavours of Peru runs from 6th to 15th September 2019 daily at Mandarin Orchard, for dinner only. For reservations and enquiries, contact +65 6831 6288 or email dine.orchard@meritushotels.com For more information, visit their website here
