It’s not just Western music ensembles that have made the move to go digital amidst the ongoing circuit breaker measures; local Chinese chamber music ensemble Ding Yi Music Company has introduced their own line-up of digital content to spread positivity and encourage audiences as they ride out the global COVID-19 outbreak together.
Launched under the collective banner of #dingyiwithyou, Ding Yi Music Company has committed themselves to releasing new content every week across their social media channels, such as Youtube, Facebook and Instagram (@dingyimusic). Content they’ll be putting up includes free full-length recordings of Ding Yi most iconic works and concerts from the past, including pieces from their signature multi-disciplinary Of Music series, and Chinese chamber music favourites from the Ding Yi Chinese Chamber Music Festival and more.
In addition, under #togetherwestand, Ding Yi will be uploading weekly bite-sized videos filled with uplifting messages, featuring Ding Yi musicians playing tunes with renowned international musicians, as well as songs dedicated to those working on the frontlines. Ding Yi will also be launching Onstage vs Offstage, in which various members of the Ding Yi family will conduct social media takeovers. From their musicians to their administrative staff, get a glimpse into the offstage lives of Ding Yi’s members.
Following on from their first ever online concert Together We Stand on Valentine’s Day, Ding Yi’s #dingyiwithyou aims to continue engaging with audiences online from the comfort of their homes. Even with social distancing measures in place, the Chinese music ensemble hopes to close that distance digitally, and add a spark of joy to audience members’ lives in these difficult times.
