Who says Chinese chamber music is outdated? Ding Yi Music Company is here to prove you wrong, with their highly anticipated first ticketed concert of the season. Presented in collaboration with Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, Tune In 2020 represents Ding Yi Music Company’s efforts in ushering in, and advocating the next wave of modern music.

Running from 15th October to 1st November 2020 on SISTIC Live, Tune In 2020 is led by Ding Yi’s Principal Conductor Quek Ling Kiong, and presents new works and adaptations by a stellar line-up of female composers, including Ding Yi’s Composium 2018 winner Chua Jon Lin, 2019 Young Artist Award recipient Emily Koh, Dr Joyce Koh, Koh Cheng Jin, Liong Kit Yeng, and Wang Dan Hong.

In line with their mission to promote a distinctive Singaporean music identity, bridging traditional and contemporary Chinese chamber music works, watch as these world premieres come to life as the Ding Yi musicians perform a diverse range of musical cultures and techniques, and experiment with new sounds and experience.

“As a local Chinese chamber ensemble, we champion this music genre and creating new generations of Chinese chamber works.” said conductor Quek Ling Kiong. “Most importantly, it takes one to adopt new ideas, new concepts and new mindsets to create new works. That will allow the music to have unlimited imagination and enables us to have greater space for imagination. We should adapt to and embrace such unprecedented times with such open spirit.”

Tune In 2020 is available from 15th October to 1st November 2020. Tickets available from The Esplanade
