The call for submissions for the 2022 edition is now open.

The EBFP is open to any citizen or permanent resident in the following Southeast Asian countries—Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor (Timor-Leste), Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Those submitting manuscripts must ensure that they are at least 40,000 words long and in the English language. New and original translations of non-English works can also be submitted.

These manuscripts must be previously unpublished. (If the work is self-published or has been made available online, it is considered to be published). However, writers can submit a new and original translation for a non-English language work that was previously published. The winner receives S$25,000, while finalists receive S$5,000 each. The winning and finalist manuscripts will be published in the second half of 2022.

Last month, two authors—Sebastian Sim and Meihan Boey—were named joint winners of the 2021 Epigram Books Fiction Prize (EBFP).

Entries for the 2022 Epigram Books Fiction Prize will be accepted until 2nd August 2021. Find out more about the Epigram Books Fiction Prize here
