A celebration of Singaporean culture, music and talent is set to take centre stage on 19 March at Sands Theatre with Majulah Live x It’s A Rap. Top homegrown acts and independent artists will come together for a live entertainment extravaganza, featuring a diverse mix of 13 local veteran and up-and-coming artists spanning the genres of music, rap and comedy.

Majulah Live x It’s A Rap will be a one-night only event that melds the entertainment realms of live music, rap and comedy into two distinct components – live music under Majulah Live, and rap under It’s A Rap. Show-goers can look forward to live music performances by an impressive line-up of artistes that include RRILEY, Jon Chua JX, and Rangga Jones, and up-and-coming music artistes such as Feez and Joy Alexis, and be entertained by some of the best rappers in Singapore including Sheikh Haikel, ShiGGa Shay, Yung Raja, Fariz Jabba and AE$OP CA$H. Fans can also have a laugh with comedians Fakkah Fuzz, Jacky Ng and Qamarul Haziq, who will be hosting the live event of up to 1,000 people.

Presented by Asia Pacific’s leading live entertainment company and Sands Theatre resident programmer Base Entertainment Asia, the event is organised by event production company Red Spade Entertainment, in association with local music agency Zendyll Music and creative company Drink Entertainment. The event is held in partnership with the National Youth Council to bring the local community together for a night of local entertainment.

Chief Executive Officer of Base Entertainment Asia Chantal Prudhomme said, “We have been committed to reviving the local music industry since live entertainment was allowed to resume during the pandemic. It is heartening to see the audience appreciation we have received for our shows with Kumar, MICappella, Kit Chan, Dick Lee, and Joanna Dong. With Majulah Live x It’s A Rap, we hope that not only the fans of these artists, but also of homegrown talent will come together to show their support for this concert, which is integral to bring our local music industry back to even stronger than where it was pre-pandemic.”

Director of Red Spade Entertainment Kelvin Goh said, “With this show, we want to convene the young and old alike to recognise our local talents in Singapore’s music scene. Majulah Live x It’s A Rap’s amazing line-up and artists will remind everyone what Singapore talents have to offer. We hope to ignite the flame that brings everyone together again especially during these trying times.”

Founder of Zendyll Jon Chua said, “There is something about music that brings people closer to each other and helps us come together as a community. We wanted Majulah Live x It’s A Rap to be unapologetically Singaporean, and to celebrate our culture through local entertainment. With our first physical concert with an incredibly talented line-up, we really hope to create a sense of vibrancy and love for the local scene together with our audiences.”

Founder of DRINK Entertainment ShiGGa Shay said, “I am very happy and grateful that DRINK and myself have an opportunity to work on and be a part of the It’s A Rap show which celebrates Singapore Hip-Hop. It would be very exciting for me as a musician to be performing with my fellow musicians for the first time in a very long while.
